Celebrating 20 years of serving victims of domestic violence through our First Step Victim Services Program.

 

Join us during October as we raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence in our communities. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month On Saturday, October 14th from 9:30am-Noon, Catholic Charities is asking you to help raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence in our community.

 

We’ll be walking the Watkins Glen Gorge after meeting at St. Mary’s Center on Tenth Street.

 

-Registration starts at 9:30am; Hike at 10:30am.

 

-Registration: $5 gift card to a local restaurant, grocery store or gas station to be given to victims of domestic violence in our program Bring your family & friends out to take a hike & make the community aware of domestic violence and the resources to help those in need of advocacy and support!

 

Meet at 112 Tenth St, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 to register & drop off your donations.

*Coffee will be available for purchase from Seneca Sunrise Coffee (proceeds will be given to the First Step Program).*

 

Local Agencies will be on hand with information and resources for our community. New First Step Hoodies will be available for a suggested donation of $30. Purple First Step T-Shirts will be available for a suggested donation of $15 for adult sizes & $10 for children’s sizes. You may select and pay for your hoodies & t-shirts when registering online. Please read our photo release and waiver before registering the day of the event. Please register each participant, including children. Address information can be entered once per household; click “same as billing” to fill in the information on all records. Parking – available at the Watkins Glen State Park for a fee ($8) or Street Parking is available near the gorge.

Ham & Roast Beef Dinner

The South Creek Lions Club will be holding a Ham & Rost beef dinner on 

Saturday, October 14th 4:30 pm at the

Lions Hall on Route 14 in Gillett, Pennsylvania.

 

The meal includes real mashed potatoes, vegetables, baked beans, homemade bread and home baked pies for dessert.  Beverages include Coffee, Tea, and Lemonade.

 

Cost is $10 per person. Take Outs available.
